The purpose of this research is the use of electroacoustic music as an approach to develop creative skills, including timbral and spatial operations, and enhance social integration in an underserved community in Tumbisca, Morelia, Mexico. Through the use of interactive music systems controlling space and its interaction with timbre, pitch and duration, this project intends to bring and engage young people in the electroacoustic music field.

I am curious in the biological systems and how those could be integrated into the compositional process. Currently I am doing a PhD at NOVARS Research Centre, The University of Manchester. My research is about DNA and mRNA sequences as systems for music composition using sonification and musification as a tool to produce sonic outcomes.
Achtli (Mixed media). I composed this piece using the names of the 43 missing students. Text were codified into amino acids sequences using a DNA interface in MaxMSP. Sonification were used to generate musical materials.

DNA Interface is a sonification/musification tool created in MaxMSP during my PhD at NOVARS, Research Centre.
This engine can create musical ideas using DNA sequences.
